Professional-Grade Planning. Built Around Your Life

We help professional athletes and their families build protected, strategic futures—with expert coordination, total transparency, and zero conflicts of interest.

The Gap Most Athletes Don't Know Exists

Most athletes rely on "business managers" who are well-meaning family members or friends—people who care, but lack the expertise to build and oversee a professional team.
The result? Critical decisions get made by people who don't know what good looks like:

  • Financial advisors chosen without understanding fiduciary standards

  • Deals signed without long-term strategy or tax implications

  • Teams assembled based on who a teammate uses, not what you need

  • No accountability systems, no audits, no oversight

It's not malicious. It's just incomplete. And it can cost you millions, or worse, your peace of mind.

How We're Different

We Don't Replace Your Inner Circle. We Build the Professional Infrastructure Around It.
Whether it's family, trusted friends, or your agent, the people closest to you stay involved. What changes is the level of coordination, expertise, and accountability supporting every decision.
Our team includes certified financial planners, former athletes, and business strategists who know how to vet professionals, align your entire team toward common goals, and ensure everyone is delivering on their promises.

  • Expert Vetting: We evaluate credentials, track records, fee structures, and fit. Because we have the certifications and experience, we know what "good" actually looks like in wealth management, tax planning, legal work, and more.

  • Strategic Coordination: Your agent, financial advisor, CPA, attorney, and brand team all operate from the same playbook. Sponsorships tie into tax strategy. Philanthropy aligns with brand positioning. Career moves consider long-term wealth. Nothing happens in a silo.

  • Built-in Accountability: Quarterly reviews. Annual audits. Performance tracking. We make sure your team is working for you, not just collecting fees. And if something's not working, we help you course-correct.

  • Total Transparency: You see every decision, every fee, every recommendation before anything moves forward. No backroom deals. No kickbacks. No conflicts of interest. Just clear, documented guidance you can trust.

Who We Are

A team of former athletes, certified financial planners (CFP®), and business professionals with 20+ years of combined experience protecting athletes and their families.
We've been in locker rooms. We've seen what happens when athletes sign deals they don't understand. We exist to prevent that.
We built Clark Sports Group to solve a problem we saw too many times: talented people surrounded by good intentions, but no real infrastructure.
Our Promise:
No hidden fees. No conflicts of interest. No one-size-fits-all plans.
Just professional-grade planning, built around your life, with you in control every step of the way.

Frequently Asked Questions:

How are you compensated?
We work on a transparent flat-fee or retainer basis, disclosed upfront before we begin.
We don't take:

  • Commissions on deals

  • Referral fees from advisors we recommend

  • Percentages of your contracts

  • Kickbacks from financial products or services

Our only client is you. Our compensation is based solely on the value we provide in coordination, oversight, and strategic planning.

Do you replace my agent or existing team?

No. We work with your agent, financial advisor, attorney, and other professionals.
Think of us as the quarterback who makes sure everyone is running the right play. Your agent still negotiates deals. Your financial advisor still manages investments. Your attorney still handles contracts.
What we do is ensure they're all coordinated, accountable, and working toward your long-term goals, not operating in separate silos.
If you don't have a full team yet, we help you build one. If you do, we help you optimize it.

Can my family still be involved?

Absolutely. We're not here to push anyone out.
Many of our clients have family members who've been managing day-to-day operations, and we work alongside them. What we bring is structure, professional expertise, and accountability systems that make everyone's job easier.
Your family stays involved in every major decision. The difference is they now have professional support and the tools to make informed choices, rather than figuring it out alone.

Is this only for rookies, or do you work with established players too?

Both. Even retired, because the plan is to partner beyond your playing career.
This is legacy work.
For younger guys: We help you build the right foundation from day one—assembling your team, structuring your first contract, planning for taxes, and setting up your financial infrastructure before money hits your account.
For established vets: We audit your existing setup, identify gaps or inefficiencies, and optimize your team for the next phase of your career and post-career life.
Every athlete's situation is different. We tailor our approach to where you are now and where you want to go.

How do you avoid conflicts of interest?

We've built our firm to eliminate the conflicts that plague this industry:
✓ We don't sell financial products, so we're not incentivized to steer you toward certain investments
✓ We don't take referral fees from the advisors or services we recommend
✓ We don't represent brands or agencies, so our loyalty is to you, not a corporate sponsor
✓ We don't take commissions on deals, so we're not pushing you toward contracts that benefit us
Everything we recommend is based on one question: Is this in your best interest?

What if I disagree with your recommendations?

Then we don't move forward until you're comfortable.
This is your life and your career. We're here to provide expert guidance, present options, and help you think through consequences, but you make the final call on every decision.
If you choose a different direction, we'll support that choice and help you execute it as effectively as possible. Our job is to inform, not dictate.

How much time does this require from me?

Less than you'd think, and far less than managing everything yourself.
Initial setup: A few hours to understand your goals, current situation, and build your customized plan.
Ongoing: Quarterly check-ins (typically 1-2 hours), plus ad-hoc conversations when major decisions come up (contract negotiations, new opportunities, major purchases).
Everything else—vetting advisors, coordinating your team, running audits, handling logistics—we take off your plate.

What if I already have a business manager or financial advisor I'm happy with?

Great. If they're doing excellent work, we're not here to disrupt that.
What we can do is provide a second layer of oversight—ensuring your business manager has the tools and accountability systems they need, and that your financial advisor is performing as they should.
Think of it like having a defensive coordinator even when you have great players. Good people get better with structure and support.
If during our evaluation we find your current setup is working well, we'll tell you that too. We're not here to create problems that don't exist.

How do I get started?

Simple. Schedule a confidential, no-obligation consultation.We'll discuss:

  • Where you are now

  • Where you want to go

  • What gaps or challenges exist in your current setup

  • Whether we're the right fit to help

No pressure. No sales pitch. Just an honest conversation about your future.
